Nikon’s Z 6 II may be the more affordable option than its big brother the Z 7 II, but don’t underestimate what a gorgeous camera it is. The Z 6 II’s 24-megapixel sensor provides plenty of detail, and since its launch Nikon has added full face and eye tracking, including for dogs and cats. This feature is easy to operate and super reliable, taking a great deal of trauma out of the act of getting an animal to pose for you and hold still! Other useful features include 14 frames per second shooting, dual card slots, and full weather sealing for any outdoor downpours. 

Partnering the Z 6 II, the Nikon Z 24-70mm F2.8 is a tremendously sharp piece of glass – especially for a zoom. Providing options throughout the focal range of conventional portrait photography, the 24-70 gives you wiggle room should your subject decide to move about a bit. Other highlights include a digital display to keep track of your settings, and a quiet autofocus that won’t distract the animal you’re photographing. For lighting, we’ve included the Aputure Amaran L-F7, a bright constant LED light source which can be attached to the camera or placed out of shot. Avoiding flash photography is usually a decent idea when it comes to animals! The Nikon Z 7 II builds on the initial Z 7 range Nikon created in 2018 to provide a true powerhouse of a camera. Featuring a 45.7-megapixel sensor capable of incredible definition and dynamic range, the Z 7 II also benefits from speedy autofocus, including eye tracking in both people and animals. With 10 frames per second shooting, intense detail even in low lighting conditions, and subtle quality of life improvements over its predecessor like more shots per charge and a secondary memory card slot, the Z 7 II is all the camera you’ll need for professional portraits. 

Included with the Z 7 II in this package, the Nikon Z 35mm F1.8 offers a wider portrait option. When partnered with the ultra-wide Z mount, and the lack of a mirror allowing for lenses to be mounted extremely close to the sensor, expect to capture every little bit of available light in the room. You also get the Nikon Z 50mm F1.8 for a standard portrait focal length. These two lenses combine to provide you with the sharpest possible images this camera is capable of shooting. 

For lighting, the Elinchrom ELB 500 Nikon kit is a powerful 2 light flash set from one of the leaders of the industry. With 500 watts of power, flash distance up to 200 metres indoors, and a whole host of charging and syncing options, this is the perfect option for a studio shoot.
